Pulau Duyong and Pulau Wan Man Development
Pulau Duyong Development
Pulau Duyong is located within the Mukim of Pulau-Pulau at the west of Kuala Terengganu, in the estuarine area where Sg Terengganu meets the South China Sea. The Project consists of 13 units of Royal Chalet within an area of approximately 17.4 ha. The proposed development on Pulau Duyong consists of a few components, such as the marina chalets, housing development, commercial development, infrastructure development and the jetties, etc within a total area of 34.72 ha.
Taman Tamadun Islam, Pulau Wan Man
The Taman Tamadun Islam project is an edutainment park with a crystal mosque located off the coast of Pulau Wan Man. It is envisioned to be a one-stop centre housing all the famous Islamic monuments and buildings in Islamic civilization such as, the Masjid Al Haram in Mecca, Al Nabawi in Medina, Al Aqsa (in Baitulmuqaddis or Jerusalem) and Alhambra in Spain. The proposed Project comprises of the facilities at the theme park, jetty center, convention center,commercial area, Laguna Park, Crystal Mosque, infrastructure, utilities and amenities. Altogether, it covers an area of slightly over 55 acres (22.3 ha). The project is connected to the mainland via a road and bridge at the eastern end of the Island.
ASPEC completed the EMP for both projects including baseline sampling along the main rivers and waterways and air and noise measurement. Mitigation measures to be included in the contractor's agreement were spelled out to ensure adoption of mitigation measures by the proposed environmental management team at both locations. At present both developments have been completed and now open to the public.
