1) Public Outreach Officer: River of Life (Posted 5 September 2018) - 2 Positions
We are looking for passionate, environmentally-concious and people-centric persons to be part of the River of Life Public Outreach Programme (ROL-POP) family.
The job involves implementing programmes in the Klang Valley through active engagements with stakeholders in order to improve the river condition for the benefit of the environment, communities and river aesthetics.
You will be involved in a range of tasks including preparing programme materials, organising activities and training sessions, engaging with stakeholders, building bridges among communities and authorities, carrying out technical work such as river sampling and premise audits and much more.

Lead, organise and manage public outreach programmes and events.
Liase with government agencies, local authorities, community leaders, businesses, schools, non-governmental organisations and the public.
Produce promotional posters, brochures, programme booklets and other awareness materials for events.
Organise and conduct environmental educational classes, capacity building and community programmes.
Conduct monitoring activities such as water sampling, biological studies and waste assessments.
Prepare and conduct surveys.
Engage with the community groups and assist them in river care programmes.
Prepare reports and conduct briefing presentations.
Degree holders (environmental science, technology or engineering) (social, socio-economy or anthropology or psycology),
Work experience of 1 to 2 years in public outreach or community-based programmes will be a benefit.
Must be analytical, responsible, committed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
Outgoing and likes field work.
Good communication skills (English and Bahasa Malaysia).
Possess a valid driving license and own transport.
