POSITIONS

Site Environmental Officer based in Pahang

Responsibility:

  • Day-to-day inspection and monitoring of the Project site to ensure that all activities undertaken at the construction site are in compliance with the EIA Approval Conditions issued by the DOE.
  • Keep an up-to-date environmental log, including observations and status reports.
  • Ensure site’s conformance with applicable environmental acts and legislation requirements of the Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974 and that of the local authority.
  • Update and liaise with the Employer on the status on a weekly basis.
  • To liaise with authority such as DOE and Local Authority.
  • Resolve customer complaints and non-conformance issues with necessary corrective actions in order to minimise recurrence.
  • The role requires your daily physical presence at the site and site office (Cameron Highlands). [Accommodation will be provided]
  • Working hours 8am – 6pm Monday – Friday.

Requirements:

  • Possess minimum Degree in science, technologies, or engineering from College / University that is recognized by the Malaysian Local Qualification Agency (MQA).
  • Registered CESSWI / MY-CISEC / CePEOEIA with at least 1-year full time EO experience in a construction site, and 5 years’ experience in environmental work.
  • Preference to those who are Certified Environmental Professional In Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM), Certified Professional for Environmental Officer in EIA (CePEOEIA) or Certified Erosion, Sediment and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI).
  • Experience in managing a construction site earth, erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Good communication skills and able to work independently. Jungle trekking skills would be advantageous.
  • Possess own transport.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
  • Able to start work in February 2024.

Assistant Environmental Consultant

Job scope :

  • Provide assistance on EIA and related environmental work.
  • Assist to prepare environmental technical reports such as EIAs, EMPs, monitoring and related reports, and their corresponding presentation slides.
  • Carry out the required field work with the project team including landuse and environmental site investigations, surveys, baseline sampling and conduct consultations with the relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Possess minimum Degree in science, technologies, or engineering from College / University that is recognized by the Malaysian Local Qualification Agency (MQA).
  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.
  • Able to drive.
  • Effective communications, organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong technical background, with a good awareness of current environmental and social issues.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
